Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

 The Grinch plans on transforming Philadelphia into ‘Grinchadelphia’ when the grumpy, but lovable Dr.Seuss character leads an opening night parade for the holiday stage musical and stops at several locations throughout the City on Tuesday, Dec. 18 and Wednesday, Dec. 19.  The Grinch will also travel to Wilmington, DE, where he will entertain young patients at Nemours/DuPont Children’s Hospital with a reading of his favorite book, ‘Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas.’ Nemours is the sponsor of a sensory-friendly performance on Saturday, Dec. 22 at 11 am. Dr. Seuss’ HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! THE MUSICAL opens for the holidays on December 19 and continues through December 29 at the Merriam Theater on the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus. The classic holiday musical inspired by Dr. Seuss’ original book features the hit songs “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas.” Max the Dog narrates the stage musical as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is “two sizes too small” decides to steal Christmas away from the holiday-loving Whos.

Tuesday, December 18

Details: Grinch will greet shoppers, along with those attending the Holiday Light Show in the Grand Court area.

 

Wednesday, December 19

 

1:00 pm Nemours/DuPont Children’s Hospital, 1600 Rockland, Rd., Wilmington, DE

Details:  The Grinch will read his favorite book, ‘Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas,’ to the young patients and their families in the hospital’s ‘Clubhouse’ area. Grinch will also pose for photos with the youngsters. Nemours is the sponsor of a special sensory-friendly performance on Saturday, December 22 at 11:00 am.

5:45 pmKimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Broad & Spruce Sts., Phila. PA (outside of Broad Street entrance)

Details: In honor of Opening Night and the Philadelphia premiere of DR. SEUSS’ HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! THE MUSICAL, the Grinch will be welcomed by a holiday chorus consisting of members of the William M. Meredith School Choir, and will join fans leading a parade down Broad Street to the Merriam Theater. In addition, The GRINCH Bus from SEPTA’s Frankford District will be parked outside in front of the Kimmel Center. Fans will be able to check out the Grinch/holiday decorations inside the bus and take photos! Hot chocolate provided by Garces, and a coloring station will also be available.
